POLICE RECRUITMENT: 547,774 Candidates Apply As PSC Rejects 84,606 A total of 547,774 Nigerians youths have applied for recruitment into the Constable cadre of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), which has been submitted in the police recruitment portal, closing on Sunday, November 26th, 2023, however, 84,606 applications have been rejected by the Police Service Commision (PSC). Quest Times gathered that the portal was officially opened by the police on October 15th, 2023. So far, out of the 547,774 applicants, 358,900 emerged successful, as they have become qualified for the next round of the recruitment process which includes; the physical, credentials, medicals, and strict background checks of the applicants. FG partners UNDP to train 3,000 youths in technical skills The Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy has entered into a partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Nigeria to offer 3,000 paid internship to 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program. According to the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, the 3MTT is an initiative of the federal government aimed at training three million Nigerians in technical skills over the next four years. The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) with the National Population Commission (NPC) enlisted the support of NYSC for the registration of 12.7million births in 2023, including the issuance of birth certificates that provide the names and nationality of every child in Nigeria that is under the age of 5, in 21 States in 456 LGAs and 4,978 wards across the country.
