Progress (Part 2): Problems That Have Impeded Nigeria’s Development*

Progress (Part 2): Problems That Have Impeded Nigeria’s Development

1. Lack of Governance:
Many of Nigeria’s problems stem from the lack of sustainable governance. Policies are changed as soon as a new government takes office. There is no continuation from where one left off, everything has to start from scratch.

2. Division and Discord:
Religion and ethnicity have taken over the hearts of the people more than the country itself. This has led people to favor their fellow citizens over their own merits and merit.

3. Lack of Quality Education:
Most schools in Nigeria lack facilities or good teachers. Students drop out of school without sufficient knowledge or skills  resulting in unemployed youth with no options.

4.  Corruption and Bribery:
From the lowest offices to the highest levels, corruption is rampant. This is killing development efforts, because any plan that is to be made is robbed of its funds before it even begins.

Where is the Solution? (Continue with Advice)

- There should be a stable development plan, without relying on one person or party.
- The leadership should be entrusted to honest and trustworthy people.
- The education system should be reformed to produce talented youth.
